About

Amy Buwick

Hope, acceptance, authenticity are qualities you can expect in working when working with me or my practice Living Consciously Mental Health. Sadly, many times people feel isolated and defeated as they continue to struggle with their life challenges. I am here to offer a partnership and a pathway to achieving personal goals, gaining a sense of personal power and emotional honesty.

I have over thirty years of experience working with older adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, communication/relationship issues  and identity development. Prior to working in private practice, I served as the Director of the University Counseling Center for Western Illinois University. I also developed a state licensed Alcohol and Other Drug Resource Center on campus so that students had access to a continuum of care to address substance use issues.

I named my current practice Living Consciously  because I think it is a cornerstone to good treatment outcomes. Living Consciously means to take stock of who you are as well as your relationships with others. It is to become aware of your strengths and weaknesses, while focusing on your strengths to make changes as you see fit.
